Lake Nona has traditionally printed quarterly calendars for residents to keep track of hundreds of events that take place within the community each year. 2019 was the year for an overhaul on the newsletter campaign, to be created with a new look and use. The event calendars were mailed to residents, as well as available for pick-up in the community information center. The new Lake Nona Event Calendar was born: What’s Happening 2019. This new version is a charming hanging calendar style with die-cut holes and perforated pages for easy portable use. To solve the issue of multiple events per any given day, there was a solution of a larger cover than interior pages, allowing room in the margins to describe the recurring weekly events. The calendar-style newsletter features consistent layout throughout each piece, to create a familial look within the campaign. Bold and colorful abstract graphic elements reflect the season’s weather and create a unique aesthetic for each edition. The uncoated texture creates a modern casual appeal, and the attention to detail in consistent font styles make the calendar as appealing as the community it reflects.
